TRAINING MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT: EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY CONTROLMaintenance Management (Manajemen Perawatan atau Pemeliharaan) Maintenance management atau manajemen pemeliharaan adalah pengelolaan pekerjaan pemeliharaan dengan melalui suatu proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian serta pengendalian operasi pemeliharaan untuk memberikan performasi mengenai fasilitas industry. 

Menimbang cukup kompleknya materi pelatihan Maintenance management ini bagi peserta, dibutuhkan training provider yang berpengalaman di bidangnya agar tidak membuat peserta tidak menjadi cepat bosan dan jenuh dalam mendalami bidang teknik ini.

The course illustrates how, in view of developments in maintenance theory and practices, equipment availability and reliability have an impact on competitiveness. The main aspects covered are: definition of progress targets, maintenance planning, overall cost of failure and performance rating.

On completion of the course, participants: are familiar with current trends in maintenance policy (TPM, RCM, …) and are capable of deciding whether they are applicable to a given case; know how to set goals in terms of overall corporate efficiency and not only in terms of the maintenance budget;  understand reliability analysis and improvement techniques, without being a specialist; know the conditions for successful management of major unit overhauls (turnarounds); are capable of determining a subcontracting policy.

1.    MAINTENANCE POLICY AND OBJECTIVES

Maintenance policy and plant policy. Financial, technical and human objectives. Current trends: TPM, intensive subcontracting, RCM… Means of adapting to a given situation. Condition-based, preventive and corrective maintenance methods and their respective importance. Conditions for effective implementation. Necessity for each method and its limitations. Maintenance work management: criticality of pieces of equipment, priorities, spare parts inventory management.

2.    EVALUATING AND MONITORING RELIABILITY

Descriptive statistics: reliability and reliability indicators, equipment performance monitoring in terms of availability and maintainability. MTBF, MTTR, … Statistical functions and their applications to preventive maintenance, equipment redundancy studies, standby machinery policy. Pareto’s law, identification of bad actors.

3.    RELIABILITY ANALYSIS AND IMPROVEMENT TECHNIQUES

Classification of equipment and resultant policies. AMDEC. Areas of application, basic techniques, probability estimation, common methodological errors. Failure trees. Purpose of the method. Practical calculation techniques. Reliability centred maintenance. Use of decision logic. Detection and elimination of concealed failures.

4.    MAINTENANCE COSTS AND FAILURE COSTS

Overall failure cost, inefficiency cost. Cost factors. Overall equipment, efficiency concept, adaptation to the petroleum and petrochemical industries. Practical simplified calculation. Performance monitoring. Life cycle cost. LCC approach applied to the choice of investments. Possible use in estimation of optimum life duration. Spare part

5.    SUBCONTRACTING

Purpose, conditions for efficiency. Why contract work out, what know how to retain, how to maintain control. Different types of contract. Which type to use. Quality assurance and safety. Contractors selection, audits, partnerships. Recent experience. Responsabilities and regulatory aspects.

6.    SHUTDOWN MANAGEMENT

Detailed preparation. Permanent cost control. Planning. Identification of critical operations. Work management.Work site organization. Responsabilities. Safety objectives. Commissioning and preliminary start-up. Quality assurance and safety. Procedures. Reports and updates.

7.    PROGRESS PLANS

From failure management to equipment management. Lowering the tolerance threshold for minor defects. Operators participation. Maintenance programs per equipment item and per equipment type.
Management of changes. Rationalising inspection and spacing out turnarounds. Progress plans, key performance indicators. Maintenance audits. Self-rating.
