This course is designed for the new user of vibration analysis or predictive maintenance instrumentation or for the individual that desires to become more familiar with the basics of vibration. The relationship between the mechanical condition of machinery and vibration is presented. This background helps show how vibration detection and analysis can be used in a cost effective program to identify machinery problems and schedule repairs to avoid costly machine downtime
The course explains basic vibration theory, the benefits of predictive maintenance and how to organize a predictive maintenance program. Coupled with this will be an overview of the interdependence of vibration monitoring, vibration analysis and condition abased maintenance options.

Peralatan hidrolis dan pneumatis adalah peralatan penghantar daya atau tenaga dengan menggunakan wahana fluida cair (hidrolis) atau gas (pneumatis). Umumnya sistem peralatan hidrolis menggunakan minyak sebagai wahana penghantar daya berbeda halnya dengan udara yang digunakan pada sistem pneumatis.
Tenaga yang dihasilkan oleh kedua sistem itu dapat digunakan untuk berbagai macam keperluan antara lain untuk mendorong aktuator.

Electrical instrumentation is important for every engineering discipline. Instrumentation is the design and use of an electrical system to collect and process physically meaningful data. Examples of instrumentation applications include non-destructive testing, monitoring of biological activity, and environmental monitoring.
A non-destructive testing application illustrates principles that are typical of most instrumentation systems. In non-destructive testing applications, sound or electromagnetic energy is transmitted into an object or structure.
Reflected or transmitted energy is detected by a sensor. The signal output by the sensor is conditioned, then converted into a digital signal for processing by computer. The computer processing creates a two or three dimensional image of the object under test. Almost all instrumentation systems include sensors, signal conditioning, conversion into digital signals, and computer processing.
Instrumentation and Control Engineering is the most diversified and challenging area inetrochemical and oil and gas industry. It covers a whole gamut of engineering such as: Instrumentation Engineering – You will learn about design documentation and specification, field measurement devices, control elements, condition and machine monitoring, fieldbus, actuators, control valves, severe service valves, solenoids, hydraulics, testing and calibration, wireless instrumentation, instrument fittings/ monoflanges/manifolds/tubing and accessories, “on line” process analysers and sample systems, pressure relief valves, choke valves and associated “real world” applications.

Applied Statistics introduces the students to the use of basic statistical concepts in agribusiness applications. This course emphasizes topics on sampling and non-parametric methods which isn’t covered in Basic Statistics course. In sampling topic, students learn to plan, execute, and evaluate of sample surveys.
The sampling topic covers: simple random, stratified, and cluster sampling; multistage and systematic sampling; questionnaire design; cost functions; and optimal designs. The student ezs must organize the team, perform, and analyse actual sample surveys.
Nonparametric topic covers concepts of parametric and nonparametric statistics, hypothesis tests, ranks, order statistics, classical distribution-free tests. In the end of the course, the students will conduct a real life survey, analyse collected data and present the survey result.

COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANTS
DESCRIPTION
This course deals with the design and general operation and maintenance characteristics of a combined cycle power plant with emphasis on the major Components. Overall design and operation concepts along with basic operation and maintenance problems for the various pieces of Turbo Machinery (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Boiler Feed Water Pumps) are discussed. Discussions and design parameters of the Heat Recovery and Steam Generating (HRSG) systems the feed water heaters and the Condensers are also included. Other topics covered are bearings and seals, lubrication systems, instrumentation, vibration analysis, flexible couplings aero-thermal performance and on-line condition monitoring of the Power Plant. An emphasis is placed on providing practical information with minimal theory. Discussion of problems experienced is encouraged.

Deskripsi Training Boiler Operation : Water Treatment & Troubleshooting
All boilers lose some water in steam leaks; and some is intentionally wasted as boiler blowdown to remove impurities accumulating within the boiler.
Steam locomotives and boilers generating steam for use in direct contact with contaminating materials may not recycle condensed steam. Replacement water is required to continue steam production.
Make-up water is initially treated to remove floating and suspended materials. Hard water intended for low-pressure boilers may be softened by substituting sodiumfor divalentcations of dissolved calcium and magnesium most likely to cause carbonate and sulfate scale.High-pressure boilers typically require water demineralized by distillation or ion-exchange.
This course identifies common problems and their causes in boiler water systems and with the water treatments. It relates the pressure to the boiler feed water quality needed and identifies the common water treatment and mechanical methods to prevent boiler, boiler feed, and condensate problems. Topics that will be covered will be corrosion control, deposit control.
Steam quality, foaming, and condensate protection. The current and new developments in boiler water treatment will be discussed and identified along with their limitations and benefi ts. This course is great for boiler operators both new and experienced.

Proses pembakaran (Combustion) adalah suatu proses yang sangat penting dalam bidang konversi dan pembangkitan energi, sebab melalui proses pembakaran ini energi yang terkandung dalam bahan bakar fosil (batubara, minyak bumi, gas alam, dll) dapat dikonversi menjadi energi panas agar dapat dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut.
Proses pembakaran terjadi di dalam ruang bakar (combustion chamber atau furnace) dengan bantuan beberapa peralatan pendukung, seperti burner, peralatan suplai bahan bakar dan suplai udara, peralatan instrumentasi dan peralatan kontrol yang disesuaikan dengan jenis dan kualitas bahan bakar.
Walaupun burner hanyalah sebuah unit pendukung didalam pengoperasian sebuah pabrik, tetapi permasalahan yang dapat ditimbulkannya akan berdampak sangat besar pada industri tersebut dan kerugian yang timbulpun akan cukup besar.
Pemahaman tentang pembakaran (combustion) dan operasional serta perilaku burner, baik dari sisi fundamental maupun teknikal yang cukup pada sebuah industri akan memberikan manfaat yang besar di dalam pengoperasian boiler, fireheater dan tungku api yang menggunakan bahan bakar gas, minyak maupun batubara diantaranya yaitu dalam Pemakaian bahan bakar dapat diminimalisasi apabila operasi burner ada dalam kondisi optimal.
